Working at street level and inside formal negotiation spaces, GARN combined movement-building, public action, and targeted interventions across the Blue, Green, and Yellow Zones to bring the living world into conversations where it has long been excluded. Nature’s presence was not symbolic—it was felt, seen, and insisted upon.
More than 80 Indigenous leaders, Rights of Nature advocates, and movement allies formed the delegation, carrying these calls from the corridors of COP30 to the streets of Belém during the Climate Action March. Their collective presence asserted the Rights of Nature as a foundation for climate action, reinforcing GARN’s commitment to systemic transformation grounded in Indigenous leadership and the principles of Earth Jurisprudence.
Demanding system change and justice for the Amazon
As thousands of people filled the streets of Belém, the call for climate justice and systemic change rang out, centred on the protection of the Amazon and the living systems it sustains.
