We are the African Hub of GARN!

GARN African Hub2 - About Us
Our Vision
An Africa where the interrelation of all life is honored, humans live in harmony within Nature and the rights of Nature (including for humans and other animals) are explicitly recognised, protected and enforced.
Our Mission
To facilitate effective collaboration between GARN members in Africa in order to better promote the universal adoption and implementation of governance and cultural systems that recognise, respect and enforce ‘Rights of Nature’, particularly on the African continent.
Our Goals
As the African Hub of GARN, our goals are to:
Transform the paradigm of a human-centric approach to one which incorporates respect for Mother Earth and other living beings and entities.
Enable organisations, communities and individuals in Africa to collaborate in building and promoting the objectives of the Rights of Nature movement in Africa.
Provide African perspectives and voices to the Global Rights of Nature movement.
Increase the capacity, knowledge and skills of African people to advocate for the Rights of Nature.
Encourage and support African-specific initiatives on the Rights of Nature relevant to the context.
Nurture the future and development of Earth Jurisprudence and Rights of Nature in Africa.
Better integrate Africa into the GARN structure and promote collaboration within the Alliance and particularly with other hubs.
